AYUSH Kayakalp

'Kayakalp' initiative within allopathic health facilities has been instrumental in enhancing the quality, cleanliness standards, and patient-friendly environment in government healthcare facilities. Recognizing the positive impact of this program, the Directorate of AYUSH Chhattisgarh, with technical support from SHRC, introduced the groundbreaking 'Kayakalp AYUSH' program under the National AYUSH Mission, marking its inaugural implementation in the country. 'Kayakalp AYUSH' program is structured around seven key parameters for assessment, which encompass Hospital/Facility Upkeep, Sanitation and Hygiene, Waste Management, Infection Control, Support Services, Hygiene Promotion, AYUSH Service Quality Assessment, and Patients' Feedback. SHRC played a pivotal role in supporting the development of comprehensive guidelines and training modules for this initiative. Following this, a 'training of trainers' program was conducted, with 32 personnel trained to act as trainers. Subsequently, training sessions for the AYUSH health workforce at the district level were carried out, and trained a total of 1194 medical officers and staff nurses Under the program, various levels of assessment were conducted, culminating in the recognition and awarding of 24 healthcare facilities for their outstanding performance in various categories. This innovative approach has not only improved the quality of AYUSH healthcare services but has also set a benchmark for future endeavors in the field.
